These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and BaoLife ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the BaoLife mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are under 18 years of age, you represent that you have obtained permission from your parent or legal guardian to use the App, and they agree to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.
BaoLife is a life simulation game where players create a character and experience simulated life events, relationships, career progression, and decision-making scenarios. The game includes:

Each user may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, exploit features, or gain unfair advantages is prohibited and may result in termination of all your accounts.

The App includes virtual currency ("Diamonds") that can be purchased with real money through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Diamonds have no real-world value and cannot be exchanged for real money.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:
While the App is primarily single-player, you may create limited user content (character names, appearance customization). By creating such content, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with operating the App.
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App, you grant us the right to use them without any obligation to compensate you.
You may terminate your account at any time by:
Account deletion is subject to a 30-day grace period. After 30 days, your data will be permanently deleted (except as required for legal compliance).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including:

The App uses AI technology (OpenAI's ChatGPT) to generate conversations and events. We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or quality of AI-generated content. While we implement content filters, AI may occasionally produce unexpected or inappropriate responses.
The App integrates with third-party services (Apple, OpenAI, Firebase). We are not responsible for any issues, outages, or problems caused by these third parties.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BaoLife and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of or in any way connected with:
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@baolife.app to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will work with you in good faith to reach a resolution within 30 days.
If informal resolution fails, you agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or the App will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify.
The arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in the United States, and the arbitrator's decision will be final and binding.
Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to prevent infringement of intellectual property rights or confidential information.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will:
Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App and delete your account.
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, labor strikes, or failures of third-party services.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and BaoLife regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms to any affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
The following sections will survive termination of these Terms: Intellectual Property, Disclaimers and Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution, and Governing Law.
